She snickered when Jua stopped and stared at her from the shore. “Come on, little princess, come feel the water, it won’t hurt you. The water is your friend… just like I’m your friend,” she said, talking in a child-like voice. “Don’t you want this?” she pretended to pout. “I made this special just for you.”She glanced back at Banzai and Shenzi for a short moment hoping to see some support or encouragement from them that she was doing good with their daughter.
She really, really wanted little Jua to like her.

Jua pursed her lips and frowned at Aquata. Slowly, she put her paw in the water – and shrieked back with her lower lip trembling.
That stuff was … disgusting. It was cold and wet and smelly and when she started licking the stuff off her paw, her body tightend. It also tasted disgustingly.
No. Just …no.
“Juuaa …”, Shenzi purred. “What’s wrong? – Tha salty water? Ya shouldn’t drink that, lil’ stupid thing. Ya shouldn’t try it.”
The cub sniffled, starting at her mother with watery eyes.
As she started rubbing them, she began wailing even louder.
‘Great job’, Ed thought, rolling his eyes. ‘Put some salt in your eyes ‘n get blind.’
He didn’t say it out loudly. But Banzai looked at him, clodly, while picking Jua up to comfort her.
“I’m gettin’ the necklace for ya, huh, baby?” Shenzi smiled softly. “I’m gettin’ it, ya won’t become wet ‘n … salty again.”
Turning to Aquata, her expression went from friendly to asking. “Is that okay for ya?”
Ed also quickly turned to Aquata. She better said yes …
“Not at all, you see I control fire. At the time before my imprisonment I used to be a god, my young brother,” he nodded to the cub, “was as well, only his domain is Earth.” Urúvion found no reason to lie, after all they were only hyenas what was the worst they could do?The cub’s ears fold a bit at the touch and the hyena’s running away, then it clicked. “Oh! T-tag!” With a mew the young one dashed over to where the hyena had run and poked him on the leg. With that the little one turned and rushed off.
It wasn’t weird, it wasn’t new – okay, it was new. And it also wasn’t ‘not weird’ to Banzai, having someone who was able to control fire in front of him.
But it also was … cool.
He started grinning widely. “So … ya’re able to, uh, make fire balls or set somethin’ on fire or somethin’? ‘cause that’s awesome! I wanna burn things, too.”

Ed narrowed his eyes, trying to find the cub in the tall grass around him.
— There! That patch was rustling, even though the wind was hardly blowing.
Snickering, Ed stalked close to the moving patch and stared at the cub with a wide grin.
“Uh.” Banzai perked en eyebrow and pointed at Ed and Nethraunien. “Is he – are they allowed to do that kinda things?”
“Oh, no there had been lava in it when I was first trapped inside, but it eventually turned to stone after a time.” As crazy as it sounded that was basically what happened, granted he’d been in his full form obviously, but the hyena hadn’t asked so he didn’t bother to say it.Startled by the hyena’s sudden movement the cub coward behind his brother a bit more but then seeing as it wasn’t attacking he poked his head out, ears perked forward listening to Ed’s crazy talk.
Tilting his head to the side a bit, a tad confused he eventually got the hint of what it was trying to say. “Y-you, wa-want to pl-play?”“
Banzai nodded slowly. Something wasn’t working in his answer … but what was it?

“Uh …” He harrumphed again. Why was his throat that dry? “‘n how did ya survive in there if there was lava in it at the beginnin’? Didn’t ya burn yaself or somethin’ …”

Aquata chuckled when Jua started to squeal and fidget to get to her. “You like it, little princess? Come on over here, this is specially for you.”She frowned a bit when she saw how fast Ed gave Jua her shell back. “No, Ed, this necklace is not for you. This is a girl’s necklace— you’re a boy,” she told him, speaking slowly, as if talking to a child. “You can’t have everything and you need to share , sweetie,” she lectured him, her voice becoming gentler towards the end.
